The view of life guided by Ayurveda empowers the practitioner to know themselves, to care for others, and respond to life's challenges with ease and clarity. Ayurveda guides us to attain optimum health and maintain vibrancy through our work and relationships. Adding Ayurveda to the practice and teaching of yoga refines our perceptions and healing capabilities, which are unique and special to each individual.

Fundamental Theory & Language of Ayurveda will be shared progressively over 5 days through Lecture, Posture (Asana) and Movement, Breathwork (Pranayama), and Self-Care Practices (Dinacharya).

• The first 3 days will focus on how yoga teachers can learn and grow a therapeutic understanding of Classical Yoga and Ayurveda. Participants will gain knowledge of the Five Elements Theory (Mahas-Bhutas) and Ayurveda-based Psychology.

• The last 2 days (weekend) will emphasise Self-Care and a clear understanding of the Tri-Dosha Theory (Vata, Pitta and Kapha).

BALARAM CHANDRA
was born into a family of soft-hearted Native Americans in the USA. As a teenager he found new guidance in life once he heard the voice and conversation of Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. He was consumed by the vast wisdom of the Vedic vision of life and the cultural practices of Yoga and Ayurveda. He then spent 8 years as a monk and immersed himself in spiritual lifestyle and practice.
Balarama Chandra currently focuses his professional practice on Ayurvedic Psychology and Habit Reformation through positive expression and the simple means of yoga, breath, and diet. He loves facilitating the conversation of self-transformation and dharma via international educational trainings, retreats, and personal counselling. Balarama is a true pleasure to study with and has a dynamic ability to make complex topics readily available, practical, humorous and exciting. He is a core teacher for Shantaya Yoga School’s 300-hour YTT program.

* Balarama & Emma will also be available for Private Ayurveda Consultations on Oct 6-8.
